Actress Gloria Sarfo has asked people criticizing her for taking off her engagement ring to cut her some slack.

Speaking on Hitz FM’s entertainment programme Showbiz Filla, the award-winning actress said, “the ring is mine; I choose when to put it on and when not to”. Gloria was proposed to by her boyfriend two years ago at the Kumawood and Akoben Awards, held in the Ashanti Regional Capital, Kumasi. She’s had the ring for a while, but recently the ring has gone missing on her finger.

But Gloria said she has taken the ring off because “after the proposal, people started talking too much about it, so we just thought it wise to keep it on the low not to put everything in the public eye again.” She added that it was untrue that she had taken off the ring because the relationship had gone wrong.

The winner of the Outstanding Actress Drama Series at the just ended Television awards also dispelled rumours that she is pregnant. She added that she and her partner will get married in God’s own time.

“Just like we all know, engagement follows and then a white wedding if possible. I think marriage is a gift from God so even if it should happen, Glory be to God".
