Effia MP: Why NDC Always Destroys

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Effia Constituency in Takoradi in the Western Region, Joseph Cudjoe, has made a startling revelation of the modus operandi of the NDC government with regards to its approach towards the development of the country.

In an interview with the New Crusading GUIDE, he observed that since NDC took over power some seven years ago, the country has not benefited from any new developmental project except fixing what they (NDC) “destroy with their incompetence”.

The MP disclosed that the NDC’s approach is to: ‘Destroy, Fix and Celebrate Phenomenon’ and that anytime NDC seem to have solved a problem they created, they start celebrating it as an achievement, but was quick to query if their belief was that Ghanaians were daft.

The MP cited the erratic power supply, depreciating cedi, capitation grant, school feeding, delays in common fund releases, mass cocoa spraying, metro mass transport service, NHIS, youth unemployment as amongst others examples to buttress his arguments, and said the Mahama-led government was making every effort to fix them after 'destroying' them.

“They mismanaged the cedi from GH¢1.4 to the dollar to almost GH¢4.5 to the dollar, and when the cedi strengthened temporarily to about GH¢3.2 to the dollar, they were all over the media celebrating it as an achievement”, he recalled.

The MP believes the NDC has taken such an approach because they, including President Mahama see Ghanaians as having short memories and thus would not realize in the end that they have mismanaged the currency from Gh¢1.4 to a Dollar to the Gh¢3.2 to the Dollar, saying “we actually expect them to do same when the power crises decreases”.

“Now they are signing costly emergency power agreement here and there to fix the problem created - something they should have started doing in 2009”, Mr. Cudjoe asserted.
