Golden Queens Reject $2,000 Bonus Gyan Promises To Splash Cash On Them

The Black Queens have rejected the US$ 2,000 bonus for each player for winning gold at the just ended All Africa Games in Brazzaville, Congo. In addition, they are demanding that all their outstanding bonuses totaling about US$ 10,000 each accrued from playing in the All Africa Games and Olympic qualifiers be paid to them. The team arrived on Sunday morning and is expecting to hold a meeting with Sports Minister Dr. Mustapha Ahmed over their remuneration at the MPlaza Hotel in Accra before breaking camp. As their name suggest, they are queens and should be treated with respect but what is happening with regard to their bonuses, leaves much to be desired. The girls are so disappointed to say the least and I hope the meeting with the sector minister will resolve the issue and give them what they duly deserve, Chairperson of the Queens Management, Committee Leanier Addy said in an interview. The Queens claim they were only informed about the bonus after they had reached the final. Meanwhile, Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan will this week announce a massive cash gift to the countrys female national team, the Black Queens, for winning gold at the 2015 All African Games in Congo. The China-based attacker is credited for spurring the female side to victory at the competition which ended on Saturday by donating $10,000 to them before the start of the competition when they were in extreme financial difficulties. The Black Queens were not paid their per diems as the competition started to cater for their basic needs but the Ghana male national team captain Gyan invited the entire squad for dinner before donating the $10,000 that helped to boost their morale. The Shanghai SIPG striker promised to donate more to the team if they manage to win the title and after defeating Cameroon in the final on Friday, the Black Queens are set for the massive cash windfall from Africas highest paid footballer.
