The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers Ghana (COPEC) has released prices of petroleum products of the various Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) as at Wednesday, September 23, 2015.
The prices chart, according to the Chamber, would help Ghanaians to know which OMC sells the cheapest fuel on the market since the deregulation exercise started.
The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) on June 16, 2015 allowed OMCs to set their own ex-pump prices for petroleum products.
The move is in conformity with the full implementation of NPA’s petroleum product price deregulation.
The NPA, the regulator of the downstream sector, before the full deregulation exercise, was involved in an Automatic Price Adjustment system, which took into consideration government subsidies and an existing pricing formula that was regularly opposed by petroleum product consumers.
The deregulation policy brought to end government’s subsidy on the petroleum commodity.
Prices per Litre
Glory Oil sells the cheapest fuel among 10 OMCs selected by COPEC.
Glory Oil’s petrol price per liter is GH¢2.828, while diesel per litre is sold for GH¢2.750.
GOIL quotedGh¢2.929 per litre of petrol and Gh¢2.829 per litre of diesel and UBI quoted Gh¢2.930 per litre of petrol and Gh¢2.820 per litre of diesel.
Shell Ghana quoted GH¢2.950 per litre of petrol and GH¢2.860 per litre of diesel and Allied Oil quoted GH¢2.960 per litre of petrol and GH¢2.850 per litre of diesel.
Agapet quoted Gh¢2.900 per litre of petrol and GH¢2.890 per litre of diesel and Total Ghana quoted GH¢2.980 per litre of petrol and GH¢2.880 per litre of diesel.
Frimps Oil quoted GH¢3.048 per litre of petrol and GH¢2.790 per litre of diesel and Ev Oil quoted GH¢3.070 per litre of petrol and GH¢2.820 per litre of diesel.
Petrolbay quoted GH¢3.070 per litre of petrol and GH¢2.810 per litre of diesel.
