The Public Relations Officer for Charter House, organizers of the annual Vodafone Music Awards (VGMA) George Quaye, has responded to a threat from the music duo No tribe, concerning a car prize that comes with winning the VGMA artiste of year.
George in his quest to make things clear explained the distinct roles Charter House plays in the award ceremony and that of the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).
He said Charter House does not owe anybody a car prize, as it has nothing to do with which award goes to the VGMA artist of the year.
In an interview with livefmghana.com, he said; “Charter House is there to create a platform for these artistes to show the world their talent and musical prowess and that the car prize is an initiative of MUSIGA with support from Kantanka.
“The thing is that Charter House does not owe anyone a car, MUSIGA is, but I am convinced that work is in progress and very soon they will get their car. Maybe it is because there is some delay somewhere,” he said.
Efforts to reach the president of MUSIGA, Bice Osei Kuffour yielded no results as his line is off.
No Tribe won this year’s Gospel artiste of the year award at the VGMA and was supposed to be awarded a branded Ghanaian made ‘Katanga’ car, but the duo has still not received as their award as promised.
