Asamoah Gyan Named 6th �Richest� Player In The World, Highest Paid In Africa

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has been named the 6th highest paid player in the World. The former Sunderland striker was named among the highest paid players in the World in a survey conducted by UK based website, Thekingmaker.me who aimed at rating the top 200 paid players on the globe. The 29-year-old earns a staggering amount of �226,923.07 ($350,000 or GH�1.429,615.03) per-week. The Shanghai SIPG attacker surpassed Ivorian international and reigning African player of the year Yaya Toure as the highest African paid player. The former Al Ain striker only falls behind Barcelona and Argentine star Lionel Messi (�313,461.00), Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo (�288,000.00), Wayne Rooney (�285,000.00), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (�275,000.00) and (Gareth Bale �256,000.00). Ghanaian international and former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien joins Gyan as the only Ghanaians to make the top 200 paid players in the World. Other African players who made the list are Emmanuel Adebayor, Wilfried Bony, John Obi Mikel, Demba Ciss�, Kolo Tour�, Seydou Keita, Alex Song and Cheik Tiot�. Gyan joined Shanghai SIPG from Al Ain in a deal worth � 20million.
