Accra bourse continues steady rise

The good performance of Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) in recent days, propelled by Ecobank Ghana, continued with another healthy gain by the stock on Thursday, which lifted the main index, the GSE All-Share index, by 26.53 per cent. The index closed active trading up at 6,469.64 points from 6,443.11 points, with Ecobank Ghana leading four gainers. Change for the year ended better at -37.98 per cent while market capitalisation also improved at GH�16,042.04 million from GH�16,022.72 million. Traded volumes nearly doubled at 2,768,600 shares from 1,644,800 on Wednesday with Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited selling nearly 1.95 million shares and UNIL selling 501,900 shares. On the broader market, there were four price changes, all positive. Ecobank Ghana gained GH�0.06 to close GH�3.09; SG-SSB gained GH�0.02 at GH�0.58; State Insurance Company gained GH�0.02 at GH�0.31; and Guinness Ghana Breweries Ghana Limited was GH�0.01 better at GH�1.29.
