Oti Akenteng Denies Recommending Japanese Coach To Hearts of Oak

Ghana football Association technical director Francis Oti Akenteng has quashed reports indicating he played a role in the appointment of new Hearts coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi. Oti Akenteng has received massive bashings from the football public for allegedly selecting a substandard coach for the Ghanaian giants. The former Heart of Lions coach who now works as a CAF instructor training local coaches is said to have recommended the Japanese to the Club. He was further blamed for ignoring the local coaches to recommend a foreigner. The astute football personality in an interview with Ghana Sports Newspaper vehemently denied such reports. With this issue I dont even want to talk about it because the more you talk about it the more people think is true, he told Ghana Sports. As I speak to you the Hearts management have asked Gerald to come and apologize to me. To be Frank I dont know where this is coming from and I dont know why someone will come out to say something like that. It is true they contacted me that they wanted to choose a coach so I should help them and I gave them my consent. But I didnt recommend the Japanese coach for them. Ask them if I even came for any of their meetings when they were selecting the coach. I never came to their meeting. They only contacted me on the Phone to tell me their intention thats all. I never heard from them again. Kenichi has been heavily criticized since his appointment as new Hearts coach
