I Want To Win The Ballon dOr Yeboah

On-loan Lille striker Yaw Yeboah says he is eyeing a Fifa World Cup crown with the Black Stars.

The 18-year-old playmaker joined the French team in the summer on a season-long loan from Manchester City following an impressive showing at the 2015 Fifa U20 World Cup in New Zealand.

“I really want to be the best player in Africa and also become the world’s best,” Yeboah told Getfootballnewsfrance.

“That is every footballer’s dream. I am more focused on the African Best Player, to get to the top, and to play in the top teams in the world as well.

“That is what I am waiting on now, that is my dream - win the Champions League, the World Cup and my league.”

Adjudged the Player of the Tournament at the 2015 Africa Under-20 Championship, Yeboah has so far made three Ligue 1 appearances for Les Dogues.

The former Right to Dream Academy trainee debuted on October 25 in a home fixture against Marseille. He is also looking forward to a first senior Ghana call-up.

“You know I am 18. If I get the chance [to play for the Black Stars], I will be happy.

“Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi and all those players started playing for their national teams when they were young and that made them what they are now.

“It gave them a different experience at an early stage. I am always ready.”

Yeboah is expected to be in club action when Lille travel to Troyes when the Ligue 1 resumes after the international break.
