Grant Betrays GFA

Coach Avram Grant has said that it is not stipulated in his contract to monitor the Ghana Premier League as the Ghana Football Association claims.

Asked why he prefers traveling to Europe to monitor players instead of watching the local league, the former Chelsea manager said, “It’s not officially part of my job but I will be very happy to offer a helping hand.”

Meanwhile, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Mr. Kwesi Nyantekyi and George Afriyie (Management Committee Chairman of the Black Stars) have all come out on diverse occasions to say that Avram Grant is obliged to watch the Ghana Premier League to help him identify local talents from the league.

According to Mr. Grant it is also not stated in his contract to give training to local coaches.
“I don’t know who told you that I have to offer training to local coaches. My job is the Black Stars but I think my meeting with them last week was a very good one and I’m looking forward to our next meeting,” the coach said.

However, Avram Grant said his greatest challenge in his one year job as the coach of the Black Stars has been his inability to go and monitor Ghanaian players who plies their trade in other African countries which he hopes to start soon.
