Maiden Street Fashion Show Set For 11th December

Ghana’s growing fashion industry will be given another boost on December 11th 2015, with the first ever fashion show to be staged not on shiny platforms but on the streets.

Organizers of the novel event, Walk Africa Model Management, say the street is the biggest platform where all fashion accessories and clothing are showcased on a daily basis, as fashionistas identify new style and current trends without any stress.

Street fashion train is a community fashion show which will be staged annually in different communities in Ghana.

The maiden event, which comes off at Labone in Accra, is thus titled ‘Labone Street Fashion Show’.

The event will take place on the street opposite the Celsbridge Pub at Labone.

The show will be spiced with live performances from D-Sheriff, Olonka and other artistes.

Organizers say the exclusive street fashion show will be staged on quarterly basis in a year.

Walk Africa Model Management says the show will also offer upcoming designers an opportunity to showcase their collections to live audience as well as local and international prospective buyers.

The organizers believe the Ghanaian fashion industry is growing rapidly with more creative designers who need a platform to showcase their style and market their products.

According to the organizers, the new fashion designers to be unveiled at the event would be supported by already established and recognized fashion designers
