Siera Leone Cleared To Host CAF Competitions After Ebola Outbreak

The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has declared Sierra Leone as safe for hosting CAF sanctioned matches.

A letter signed by CAF Secretary General, Hicham El Amrani and addressed to the president of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Isha Johansen, said the clearance was given upon recommendations from the World Health Organisation (WHO).

According to the letter, CAF was compelled to ban the West African country from hosting matches during the Ebola outbreak in August 2014.

The letter said, Liberia and Guinea are yet to be given the green light to host CAF competitions, since they have not been declared Ebola-free by the WHO.
