XCLUSIV FOTOS: Dr. Osei Kwame, Akufo-Addo, Asamoah Gyan, Kenpong Others Donate To 1965 Black Stars Team

The affluent in society, sports personalities and lovers of the game gathered to celebrate past heroes of Ghanaian soccer history. The 1965 Black Stars players who won the Cup of Nations were honoured by some individuals in the country at a fund-raising dinner at the Sun Lodge hotel at Tesano, Accra. Black Stars captain and Shanghai SIPG player Asamoah Gyan, presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party [NPP], Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo and the Despite Group of Companies led by Mr. Osei Kwame Despite, Dr. Ofori Sarpong of Special Ice, among others made huge sum donations to support the 1965 winning team. Asamoah Gyan made a GHS 50 000 donation to the Cup of Nations winning side, Osei Kwame Despite CEO of Despite Group of Companies donated GH� 80 000 with Nana Akufo-Addo donating GH� 25 000 to the 1965 squad of senior national team players. Other individuals including Kennedy Agyepong of Kenpong Travel and Tours, Mr. Prosper Appiah of Prolux and a few more made donations to the team. Highlife living legends Amakye Dede and Daddy Lumba entertained the high profile personalities with great live Highlife music. The fundraising dinner was part of celebrations for half a century since the Black Stars won their second Cup of Nations tournament in Tunisia.
