Former Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko attacker Charles Taylor has urged the Clubs to redeem their image in the domestic top-flight.
The 33-year-old who has been ordained as a pastor after a premature retirement from active football following recurrent knee injuries is backing the Clubs to excel in the League next season.
Kotoko were dethroned as League Champions after finishing second behind regional rivals Ashanti Gold at the end of the 2014/15 Premier League season.
Hearts of Oak on the other hand narrowly escaped relegation after finishing 13th on the log sheet, a performance which goes down to become the Club’s worse in the League.
Taylor who won the Premier League title with both Clubs is urging the teams to excel in the upcoming season.
“The season did not go well for them. I don’t think this was what their supporters were expecting,” he told GHANA SPORTSNewspaper in an exclusive interview.
“Is very unfortunate that Kotoko could not retain their League title same as Hearts of Oak who nearly went to relegation. I think that would have been a disaster.”
“But I think they can bounce back next season. I hope everything goes well for them in the coming season so one of them can win the League title, so I wish them all the best.”
The former Black Stars and Black Meteors attacker joined Kotoko after four seasons at Hearts of Oak.
