Former CEO of Hearts of Oak, Harry Zakuor has taken a serious swipe at the management of both Kotoko and Hearts saying their bad administrations have changed the fortunes of the clubs to the extent that smaller clubs in Ghana are doing better than them.
Though Asante Kotoko for the past five seasons have won the Ghana Premier League on three occasions off the pitch they have adversely suffered financially.
Their bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak have been without a major silverware for six seasons and their recruitment policy has been questioned by the followers of the club.
The current state of Hearts of Oak has really put the board chairman and majority shareholder of the club Togbe Afede XIV under severe pressure to deliver the needed results for the club’s fans.
And Harry Zakkuor who during his days as Hearts of Oak CEO won the Ghana Premier League on five occasions, won the CAF Champions League and the Super Cup has opined that the smaller clubs in Ghana are doing better than the two big clubs because bad managements.
“The smaller clubs are doing better than Hearts of Oak and Kotoko all because of bad managements,” he told Boss FM.
“Kotoko and Hearts are not like Watford or Swansea. They are big clubs and they need experience players in the team to help the course of the club.”
Harry Zakour is not only remembered at Hearts for winning the CAF Champions League and Super Cup, but also his managerial expertise in sustaining players at the club as well ass luring other big names.
