CPP Not For Nkrumahs Children

Leader and chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP,) Professor Edmund N. Delle, has asserted that the CPP is not the sanctuary of the children of its founder, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

In interview with Accra-based Starr FM yesterday, Prof. Delle, indicated that the CPP is open to all Ghanaians who are willing to pursue the agenda of development in tandem with the ideals of its founder and first president of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

“CPP is progressive and welcomes everybody,” he said.

It will be recalled that in our publications and that of some media reportage, wards of Dr. Nkrumah claimed that they were  fit to lead the party.

But Prof. Delle who is also a renowned Dermatologist opined that, “I doubt Dr. Nkrumah left the party for his children”.

Prof. Delle also announced that the 2012 flag-bearer, Dr. Abu Sakara, has not resigned from the party as is being speculated in some  sessions of the media and that he [Dr Sakara] had  confirmed to him that he did not issue any communiqué to that effect hence his long silence over the matter.

It would be recalled that, some leading members of the CPP including, Dr. Abu Sakara had accused the former national chairperson who apparently happens to be the last born of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah,  Samia Nkrumah of hijacking the party.

They alleged that, she is dictating the affairs of the CPP, an allegation she had since denied vehemently.

Ms. Nkrumah is aspiring to lead the party in the November elections.
