Towards CPP Presidential Elections Greenstreet Is Our Best BetSays Kabila

James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly known as Kabila, a former National Youth Organizer of the Convention People's Party (CPP) is urging the party delegates to vote for Ivor Kobina Greenstreet as flagbearer of the party.

According to Kabila, Ivor Greenstreet is the only person among the four contenders who is "angry and at the current economic hardships and is hungry to save the situation"

“He is a man who is angry enough. The only man in the heat of Ghana who spoke to the face of the NDC during their Congress” to address the rot in the Mahama administration.

"He is our best bet. He is the best among them…We want a person who can bring unity into the party. Our shortfall in the party when you read Professor Addai Mensah’s book that was recently launched; our major problem is that on daily basis, we cause divisions and conflict"

Kabila further disclosed in an interview with The New Crusading GUIDE yesterday that Mr. Greenstreet has never been accused of belonging to a faction in the party and “it is a plus for him because we need unity now more than ever”

The CPP has slated its Presidential primaries for this Saturday, January 29 to Sunday, January 30, 2016.

Three other candidates have so far picked and submitted nomination forms to contest the primaries. They include Madam Yaba Samia Nkrumah, a former chairperson of the party and former MP for Jomoro, Mr Bright Akwetey, a lawyer and leading member of the party, and Mr Joseph Agyepong, a party stalwart in the diaspora and businessman.

Touting the impeccable credentials of the immediate past General Secretary of the CPP, Kabila said Greenstreet is “so loyal to the party and to this nation. Ivor is  straight forward. He is also hard working. Some people argue that he is in a wheel chair, it’s true. But I tell you the most visible party officer all these years on the grounds who our party members know is him”.

“He is a man who is angry enough. The only man in the heat of Ghana who spoke to the face of the NDC during their Congress” to address the rot in the administration of President Mahama.

Mr.Greenstreet is the son of two Professors from the University of Ghana, Legon, and is the third of their four children. He is a lawyer called to the Ghana Bar and the English Bar (Inner Temple) as well as a writer and publisher.

He contested as a Parliamentary candidate in 1996 on the ticket of the People’s Convention Party but had to withdraw due to the Great Alliance at that time. In 2004, he contested as a parliamentary candidate for the CPP in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency and garnered record 4,964 votes for the party. He was later elected as General Secretary in 2007 and again in 2011, being the only national officer to be re-elected for a second term.
