Nyaho Mad At Polo

Accra Hearts of Oak Board Member Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe has expressed grave shock over Mohammed Polo’s recent statement that he regrets joining the rainbow family.

The former Ghana Football Association (GFA) chairman has described the Hearts of Oak legend’s remarks as unfortunate and worrying.

In a telephone interview yesterday, he said Polo hit below the belt by comparing the two rival teams and stating categorically that he will play for Kotoko if given the chance another time.

To Dr Tamakloe, Polo statement was unfortunate which has the potential to turn some of the club’s former administrators turn in their graves.

And describing football as politics of the time, he sounded dumfounded as to why Polo would not exercise restraint in his speech saying, “Polo must know that football is now politics and should know when to talk.”

“Polo’s statement was unfortunate, especially when he was comparing the two clubs. He should not forget he was among the fearsome five and he couldn’t have achieved whatever he achieved alone with players like Peter Lamptey and co.

“He became who he is or was because of the platform Hearts gave him, am shocked he made those statements. It’s an unfortunate statement.”

“The likes of Oyeeman Wereko Ampem, HP Nyemetei, Tommy Thompson, Alhaji Tijani, Dr Eugene and co would be turning in their graves because of his statement.”

He added that “Lawyer Adjei Osekreh, who is alive would be more sad, because he gave Polo all the opportunities to become what he was, as a chairman of the club.”

“Personally, Polo has disappointed me, and I believe has done same to a large chunk of the Hearts family.”

Until Coach Herbert Addo some months ago, he was the head coach, but his reign was characterized by streak of draws.

Polo has been a constant critique of his boyhood club.
