A jilted lover strangled his ex-girlfriend to death with cable ties and string after she fell pregnant with her new partner, a court has heard.

Mother-of-two Isobel 'Becky' Parker, 23, was found dead at her flat in Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex, after her former partner Matthew Smith strangled her in a rage and left her dying in her bath, Chelmsford Crown Court heard today.

Ms Parker, who was six months pregnant at the time, was discovered by her sister, Sarah, now 18.
