Many members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) including the deputy General Secretary, Mr. George Lawson have accused lawyer Gary Nimako Marfo, counsel for Hon Nii Armah Ashietey of pursuing a personal interest in the NDC Klottey Korle primaries.

George Lawson fumed that the counsel for Armah Ashietey is taking undue advantage of the case to make NDC unpopular because of his (Nimako's) affiliation with the NPP; claiming that the lawyer has been castigating the NDC in bad light in his numerous media interviews.

He however gave the assurance that Nii Armah Ashietey's counsel that he cannot destroy the NDC with his actions.

He established the point that nobody can interfere in the activities of the NDC as the party’s Vetting Committee exercised its discretion during the vetting of Dr. Zenator Agyeman Rawlings per their guidelines.

“He has taken the thing personal; the way he talks, it is as if he has something personal against the NDC . . . why the hullabaloo, jumping from radio station to another? We have made our own rules; Zanetor Rawlings didn’t wake up and contest. We cleared her to contest,” he fumed.

He maintained that the guidelines for the party was drawn by the leadership of the party. and therefore decided to clear Dr. Zanetor Rawlings.

“We drew the guidelines and so what is his beef? If you are a lawyer, just discharge your duties professionally; don’t come and be castigating the party. You are NPP member; go and fix the things in the NPP. He cannot destroy our party; what we know is that we have a candidate (and that is Zanetor),” he stated on Okay Fm's Ade Akye Abia Morning Show.
