Intriguing ‘seer” Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah, General Overseer of the Glorious Way Chapel, at the beginning of this year, gave thirty-five scary prophecies which he said would befall Ghana if fervent prayers were not said; and barely three months into the year, some of those predictions have started unfolding.
It may be by sheer coincidence but the fact that some of the predictions have started happening has sparked fear that the other scary predictions from the same seer might also befall the nation.
At the threshold of 2016, Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah, during his annual New Year prophecies, said that a popular and prominent police officer would die, there would be fire outbreaks in people’s homes, shops and market places, Members of Parliament would die and that a radio presenter would say something that would cause confusion.
Barely three months after the predictions, the country has witnessed several fire outbreaks in homes, shops and market places, a prominent police officer who was even a Regional Commander is dead, a Member of Parliament has been murdered and indeed a popular female radio presenter said something on radio that caused confusion and even compelled the National Media Commission to issue a statement and call for a cease fire.
Owusu Bempah, during his prophecies, had said that the Ashanti Region would be clad in funeral cloths, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would have two great funerals, this year’s elections date would change, there would be an earthquake in Ghana and that there would be a plane crash involving the Black Stars.
Indeed, this year the Ashanti Kingdom has announced a prominent royal death, the NPP has two great funerals pending and the elections date has indeed been changed.
The fact that some of these predictions of Owusu Bempah have come to pass has sent shivers down the spines of many who now live in uneasy anticipation of the other prophecies.
Indeed, he had predicted a possible passing away of the country’s president, a coup d’état in Ghana and the serial murder of virgins for ritual purposes.
Critics of Owusu Bempah have however called his bluff and rubbished his supposed prophecies. They have argued that the nature of the predictions have been largely general and border on things that are bound to happen whether or not they have been predicted by someone.
