"Unprofessional";... BNI Goofed! - Nana Akomea

Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea has described as unprofessional the action of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to leak information to pro-NDC newspapers about the three South Africans while investigation is inconclusive.

According to Nana Akomea, the BNI goofed by leaking information to the ruling NDC rented press that the three security consultants from South Africa are mercenaries brought into the country by the opposition to train people to disrupt the 2016 elections whereas the bureau is inconclusive with its investigations.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Nana Akomea insisted the NPP has not flouted any law of the land by contracting a registered security company, Delta Security to train some personnel with NPP’s Presidential Candidate and his Running Mate.

He hinted it was in the wisdom of the Delta Security Company to consult security experts from South Africa; adding the three South Africans who have been arrested by BNI have no evil intention towards the country as the NDC and the BNI want to portray them.

He was however certain that Delta Force Security followed due process before the three South Africans were brought into the country to train NPP personnel including the drivers of Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“Is it not alarming, however, that a case which according to the BNI is still under investigation has been leaked to pro-government newspapers, obviously in the bid to help the NDC score cheap political points?”

“I think the BNI acted unprofessionally to rush out to give information to the NDC rented press whereas it has not concluded on its investigations,” he stressed.

He apparently accorded the entrenched position of the ruling National Democratic Congress as propaganda (NDC) to describe the South African ex-Policemen as mercenaries when no evidence points to that direction.
