Hotels Fully Booked, Prices Hiked At Kwahu

Hotels on and near the Kwaku Ridge have been fully booked prior to the Easter festivities and are experiencing price hikes.

A visit to some hotels such as Ohene Nana Classic at Mpraeso, Loops Hills Hotel at Nkwatia and Parkers Hotel at Nkawkaw, among other facilities, showed that the rooms have been fully booked  for the entire period of the Easter festivities.

As a result of the few hotels in the area, prices have been hiked over five times the normal rates. At Ohene Nana Classic at Mpraeso, for instance, the manageress, who only gave her name as Auntie Maggie, said for the entire period, rooms were going for between GH¢800 and GH¢1200.

She said the hotel had also been booked by managers of musician Bisa Kdei, for the artiste who would perform live throughout the Easter period from Good Friday to Easter Monday.

The caretaker of Loops Hill Hotel, Mr David Tawiah, however, told the Daily Graphic team that although no event had been lined up at the hotel, guests would only be given rooms if they were lodging for the entire four-day period.

He explained that any guest who needed a room for a day or less than the four days, for which they would be charged from between GH¢500 and GH¢800, would not be offered the facility.
