Office Raid: NPP, Danquah Institute Lodge Official Complaint To Police

Officials of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the policy think tank, Danquah Institute, have officially lodged a complaint with the Ghana Police Service following a ransacking of the offices of the think tank.

Deputy Communications Director of the NPP, Perry Okudzeto, told Citi News that the police have promised to assign an officer to investigate the matter. “We needed to alert the authorities about what had happened. They promised to send CID officers to come and investigate.

At the time I left the police station at around 11 pm, the CID officer was not available to go to the scene so they promised that they would make sure the officer would come to ascertain what had happened,” he said.

The NPP alleged on Thursday, March 24 that personnel, who they believed to be from the Ghana Police Service and the BNI, raided the offices of the Danquah Institute in Accra. According to the NPP, the officers entered the premises of the Danquah Institute by jumping the wall after the caretaker of the office had refused them entry.

They then opened the offices forcefully and ransacked the place.
