Ohemaa Mercy Shakes Kumasi

Gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy was in her full flow at the Dome of the Golden Bean Hotel in Kumasi when she thrilled thousands on Easter Sunday at MTN Choralfest.

Just when the “Aseda” hitmaker and other heavyweight gospel musicians were ready to shake the Dome in Kumasi, it began to rain.

By 4pm, the rain had descended heavily leaving patrons to seek cover under any available shelter on their way to the venue. The rain couldn’t stop the start of the show since MTN, organisers of the concert promised that the show would start at 4pm.

The show eventually got underway at 4:30pm with Joyce Blessing as the first act. She kicked off the show despite the few patrons who were present. The rain finally stopped at 5pm whilst Joyce Blessing was on stage ministering to allow patrons who were on their way to the event to continue their journey.

Musicians such as Ernest Opoku, Brother Sammy, Perfect Glory Choir, O.J, Patience Nyarko and many others who performed back-to-back to the delight of the appreciable audience followed Joyce Blessing after her performance.

Then came the woman everybody at the Dome of the Golden Bean in Kumasi had been waiting for, Ohemaa Mercy. Ohemaa Mercy started her ministration with her sweet-sounding worship songs to relax the souls of the crowd who had been dancing for several minutes before she climbed stage.

After worshiping with the thousands who attended the show, the “Wofiri Mu” singer decided to raise the tempo. Ohemaa who got on stage around 9pm was able to keep the crowd at the venue on their feet with her energetic style of singing and dancing. For close to an hour, the gospel minister was on stage entertaining the crowd who had the chance to be at the strictly by invitation concert.

MCS for the 2016 MTN Choralfest were Naana Hayford and Winfred Daniel Nii Adjaye of Ultimate FM.

At the end of the six hour show, performances by Ohemaa Mercy, O.J, Brother Sammy, Ernest Opoku, Joyce Blessing, Patience Nyarko and other musicians etched itself on the minds of patrons who will remember it for a long time.
