Mills appeals to US business community

President John Atta Mills has appealed to the US business community to take advantage of opportunities in Ghana and invest in the country. He said they should make Ghana the preferred investment destination and assured them of a level playing field and freedom to operate without any undue government interference. President Mills said this on Thursday at a luncheon in his honour by the Bank of America Merrill and Fidelity after he had addressed the 64th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. He said Ghana was looking for investment in energy, oil and gas, agriculture and agribusiness, information and communication technology, tourism, mining and transportation. The President said government would not divert from its promise to create jobs and run an open, honest and transparent government. "Come to Ghana to invest. Take up the issue of partnership, because you have the experience to invest in Ghana. This luncheon should be the beginning of our union. We are ready to share Ghana's resources to help improve the lives of our people, he said. President Mills told the business people "Your participation will help build a better Ghana and help improve the lot of our people. You'll not be disappointed for investing in Ghana," President Mills said.
