Wisa Endorses Nana Akufo-Addo

Hiplife artiste, Wisa Greid, has endorsed the Presidential Candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo-Addo for the November polls, and has urged Ghanaians to vote for him massively.

Wisa Greid, born Eugene Ashie, made the endorsement at Labadi in the La Dade-Kotopon Constituency of the Greater Accra Region yesterday [Monday], when Nana Addo visited the area.

The hiplife artiste said he had supported the NPP since he was a kid because of his father. “I’ve supported NPP for a while now because since I was born that was the party my father was supporting so that is the party I was born into and that is what I will support.”

Wisa also said he believes Nana Addo is the right person to turn Ghana’s economy positively around hence must be given the chance to lead. “I’ve been observing the problems facing the country. I am a musician who always goes to the studio to work. I work with electricity and when there is dumsor my work cannot progress. So I am excited that we have a leader who has promised to solve the problems facing the nation and I believe that he can do it. I am very confident that Nana Akufo Addo will take over the presidency come 7th November. So let’s all support him,” he added.

He also used the opportunity to sing his hit song ‘Ekiki me’ for Nana Addo and his entourage. Wisa showed his penis at a public concert Wisa, an upcoming artiste whose ‘Ekiki Me’ song was making inroads, is currently standing trial for indecent exposure. In December 2015 while performing on stage at the Accra International Conference Centre, he showed his penis while dancing behind a female dancer. The artiste apologized profusely for the indecent act which was widely condemned.

But his Lawyer, Jerry Agbenovor, later mounted a defence for his client, saying he only showed a dildo and not his genitals. A dildo is an object having the shape and often the appearance of an erect penis, used in sexual stimulation. Politics and celebrities This is not the first time a known musician is endorsing a politician. Some actors and actresses also decalre such support ahead of major elections.

In the 2012 elections, celebrities in the country were divided along political lines for the governing NDC and the opposition NPP. Whereas the NDC had the likes of John Dumelo and Mr. Beautiful, the NPP on the other hand led by Nana Akufo-Addo, was supported by Daddy Lumba, Kwabena Kwabena and A-Plus.

Six months to the November polls, Dumelo, Mr. Beautiful and Papa Nii Papafio aka Oesophagus, have already been spotted at events organised by the NDC and President Mahama. Popular boxer, Bukom Banku has also released a song touting President Mahama’s achievements.
