"I Was Not Expecting To Be Nominated"- MzVee

Ghana's Dancehall queen Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda better known by her stage name MzVee said she is the most excited person on earth right now after her BET Awards 2016 nomination but she frankly was not expecting to be nominated.

Speaking to Peacefmonline.com, this morning, MzVee who couldn't control her excitement said "I think I am the most excited person right now in the world. I am very excited trust me I feel so happy".

MzVee said she woke up this morning with a lot of congratulatory messages from her various social media platforms "I woke up this morning because my phone was just ringing and my WhatsApp was going crazy and my notifications from social media was also buzzing. It was crazy this morning and that was how I got to know I have been nominated".

However, the over joyous MzVee admitted that she was not expecting to be nominated and she is as surprised as most people are. "I wasn't expecting this! Honestly speaking I wasn't expecting to be nominated".

She explained that "Well, I am that kind of person who just does her work and any awards that comes surprises me. I don't put my mind on awards or anything like that so when they come they do surprise me".

Asked if she has any idea what criteria was used to nominate her, MzVee said "I have no idea really, I don't know how this happened but I am sure it's all about hard work because I haven't being sleeping and my team hasn't being sleeping and it's been hard work from day one, so I think it's all about that and my music and videos are being played in other African countries and I am getting fan base from other African countries so I am sure that also contributed to it".

MzVee said she is super excited because she is the first Ghanaian female artiste to be nominated for the BET awards "I am super! excited I have been all over the place today and I have being walking round in circles I don't even know what I am doing to myself but all I know is that I am just really super excited and this is for all women".

The "Natural Girl" Singer, said she has being getting both positive and negative feedback since it came out that she has been nominated.

"I am getting very good feedback and of course some bad once but I am concentrating on the good feedback and the once that are making a positive impact in my life. But really I am doing everything for my fans. There is this section of people who think it's a no no for me to be nominated and there are also people who also think I deserve it and I think it's normal".

MzVee thanked her fans for supporting her "My fans are my everything to me and they are the reason why I have gotten this far so I want to say a very big thank you to all my fans and anybody who has supported MzVee from day one and I want to tell them that I love all of them and God richly bless them".

MzVee told Peacefmonline.com that she would go to the awards in LA with the highest hope and God willing she would make Ghana proud.
