Former group member of hip-life music duo, Dobble, Paa Kwesi, who is now solo, has disclosed that his fans should expect nothing but good and quality high-life music from him.
Paa Kwasi, who has been tagged with the name, High Life Beast, revealed this in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Today in Accra.
According to him, the separation of the group, ‘Dobble,’ has divided their fan base.
“Due to the split with my brother, (Ennwai), our fan base has also been divided,” he said.
Paa Kwasi added that “but I’m not perturbed; what I believe in is there’s more to be done to aid the growth of our music industry, and with my versatility and choosing high-life as my new genre I’m aiming at producing good and quality music.”
Paa Kwasi is yet to outdoor his much anticipated music video for his new single- Nipadasani-and has already released his third high-life song titled; ‘Say Sorry.’

What challenges are you facing as a solo artiste?
“Basically, everything is going on perfectly fine but one of the major challenges is that the fans will definitely be divided, and people will talk and show sentiments about it.
How do you see our current high-life songs?
Though people are doing high-life, you will feel the real high-life, but for now what we hear is beats of high-life sound like R&B.
Why the name High-life Beast?
I’m saying High-life Beast because we are bringing back the basics of Ghanaian music; we want to show the originality of high-life song that we use to hear.
Any instrument you love using in your song?
Since our split I make sure I record my songs live in the studio and one instrument I love so much is the saxophone, though I don’t play it myself.
I make sure that people will feel it and relate to it; and sax touches the heart and the soul.
What should fans expect from Paa Kwesi (Dobble)?
My fans should expect nothing but good and quality high-life songs. People are there and they’re doing it; what I can say now is get the Beast hungry and he will definitely get angry to deliver.
