High Court Dismisses Sammy Crabbes Suit Against NPP

An Accra High Court has dismissed a suit filed by the second National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Crabbe challenging his suspension from the party.

The court dismissed the case on "unmeritorious" grounds.

Mr Crabbe sued the party for indefinitely suspending him in January this year. According to him, his suspension was an act of lawlessness by "coup makers" within the party.

According to the court presided by Justice Dennis Adjei, the national Disciplinary Committee (DC) of the party has the right to hear and punish anyone, hence Mr. Crabbe's refusal to appear before it is not right.

The court further ruled that the plaintiff's claim that Eugenia Kusi should not have been part of the DC that sat on his (Sammy's) case had no basis.
