Quite Outrageous For NPP To Delay Its Manifesto Launch Until Incumbent Does Its Own! - Kofi Adams

National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams says Ghanaians must now know that the opposition NPP has no campaign message.

The NPP he said has therefore adopted to trivialize issues and “shop” for concepts from the ruling NDC to campaign on.

According to Mr. Adams, any serious opposition party that means well for Ghana should by now have an idea what message it intends to sell to electorates to win their votes. But the fragmented NPP, whose candidate is virtually stationed at his Nima residence has resorted to threats and lies to incite the public.

The NPP has no program, no ideas, nothing for this country. They are just shoppers of ideas,” he said

The NDC National Organizer who was speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show 'GHANA MONTIE' disclosed that the NDC is set to launch its 2016 election manifesto.

It’s outrageous for an opposition party to delay its manifesto until an incumbent launches its. Up till now the NPP cannot come out with their manifesto so they have no message for the electorates. They [NPP] are just waiting to counter on what the NDC will be doing. They are all over shopping for ideas and encounter hitches,” he said.

Mr. Adams said unlike the NPP, the NDC has a well-structured program its already implementing to change the lives of Ghanaians. This he noted will be penned in the yet to be outdoored manifesto. He added that his party will soon launch it as well as its Presidential Campaign team as it begins a massive campaign to show the massive infrastructure projects and other bold initiatives by President John Mahama to assure the people of hope ahead.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party is currently working on the venue for the event” And we shall let the Ghanaian know the expected impact of the numerous projects we have undertaken. …," he revealed.

Giving an update on how the NDC is positioning itself to prosecute the 2016 agenda, the National Organizer of the NDC, Mr. Kofi Adams, highlighted the party’s manifesto as focusing on “investing in our people that will change their lives and transform Ghana."

He disclosed that the NDC manifesto would continue to place premium on human development and welfare, as well as infrastructure development.

The NDC 2016 manifesto, Mr. Adams further disclosed, would also capture the socio-economic and political realities after 2012 and then showcase government’s programmes and activities that would bring out the realities beyond 2016. Investments in human development, pharmaceuticals, poultry, cereal production, cocoa, cashew, coffee as well as initiatives in the energy sector, roads, transportation and health have laid a solid foundation. He noted.

He said the NDC’s manifesto will not be difficult to sell because the party has so far covered most of the promises and performed creditably in providing the right reforms and fundamentals needed for accelerated economic growth. He said the party has an enviable record and will proudly tell Ghanaians.

On how the NDC is positioning itself for the 2016 polls, Mr. Adams declared, “We understand our opponents will not be principled in this campaign and so we have positioned ourselves very well to respond to their mischief and lies.

He added that the NDC is going to focus on telling the truth instead of peddling of half-truths to win political power.

Our presidential candidate is very credible who is acknowledged globally; it’s clear when the world needed two people to lead the process for attaining the new goals set for bettering the world dubbed Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), it was President John Dramani Mahama and the Prime Minister of Norway who were nominated to lead the process,” Mr. Adams argued.

I do not think the world will be wrong and only Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will be right,’ he stated.

With the exception of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that has inaugurated its presidential campaign team headed by Mr. Peter Mac Manu, all the political parties, including the ruling party (NDC), are yet to do so with barely 158 days to this years’ elections.
