Hearts Threaten Kingston Over Latest Ghana Call-up

Ghana football authorities are likely to report Scottish club Hearts to Fifa over threats made to Laryea Kingston over his latest call-up to the Black Stars. The midfielder has been warned by the Hearts coach Csaba Laszlo that he will not play him if he joins Ghana for the World Cup qualifier against Benin on 10 October. Kingston has also been picked again by Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac, despite still having not played a game for the club this season. While Laszlo claims he has left out Kingston out of Hearts matches due to injury, the midfielder insists he is fit to play. In fact he played for the Black Stars in their last World Cup qualifier against Sudan, which resulted in his angry stand-off with Laszlo, as Kingston insisted he was fit to play for his country. Several members of the Ghana FA are furious that the midfielder has once again been threatened by Laszlo over the call-up for the Benin game. The Ghana FA has not ruled out reporting Laszlo to Fifa as they deem his action as trying to prevent Kingston from playing for his country. The 28-year-old angered Laszlo and delighted his nation last month by revealing he would always put his country before his club. The Hearts boss today insisted he would not stand in Kingston's way on this occasion, despite Ghana having already qualified for the World Cup. But Laszlo said the travelling would mean the player was unlikely to feature for Hearts as a result before the end of the month.
