Paddle Your Own Canoe - Naa Torshie to Carlos

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Tema West, Irene Naa Torshie Addo is incensed about what she described as attempt by the parliamentary candidate for the same constituency to run her down.

According to her, Carlos Ahenkorah cannot blame her for his inability to handle the constituency ahead of the November elections.

Naa Torshie was reacting to an allegation by her successor that she is scheming to have him disqualified.

Carlos Ahenkorah among other things claimed on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen Monday that the incumbent MP concocted a story about a passport issue he had with the BNI to incriminate him and divert his attention from his electioneering campaign.

But Naa Torshie in a quick rebuttal on the same show said the parliamentary candidate is suffering from his own arrogance.

She explained that, Carlos Ahenkorah's actions created deep-seated division in the constituency by consistently running her and some constituency executives down.

“He [Carlos] feels too big in his shoes but if I were him, I would humble myself and beg the constituency executives for help,” she noted.

The Tema West MP stated that majority of the people who voted for him have regretted given his shambolic performance even as a candidate.

“I am not bitter because a lot of people have regretted voting for him; I am restored since people don’t know how good a thing is until you lose it,” she scoffed.

Naa Torshie said in spite of the insults and humiliation she has been subjected to, she is still working vigorously to ensure the NPP retains the Tema West seat.

“Carlos should paddle his own canoe and leave me alone; he should take the bull by the horn and work,” she stressed.
