Black Queens to play Germany in friendly

Ghana’s Black Queen will play Germany in an international friendly on July 22. Ghanasportsonline.com can confirm.

The game which will take place at Paderborn will be use as build-up for Germany ahead of their Olympic Games group opener against Zimbabwe.

The friendly will also be used by the Black Queens as part of their preparation ahead of the 2016 Africa Women’s Championship in Cameroon.

“Ghana were our first-choice opponents because we desperately wanted to test ourselves against an African team to round up our preparation for the Olympics. Their style of play is very similar to our first opposition at the Games, Zimbabwe. We will contest the match using our entire 18-player Olympic squad,”general manager Doris Fitschen said.

The Black Queens failed to qualify for the Rio Olympic Games after suffering elimination at the hands Cameroon.
