The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has announced that there will be a special ranking for African teams in determining the pots for the final draw of the 2018 world cup qualifiers.

This according to FIFA, has become necessary following some complaints received with regards to a fluctuation in the last FIFA/Coca Cola ranking in June.

In a statement signed by the Deputy Secretary General of FIFA, Marc Villiger, the confirmation of the pots for the 20 teams will be revealed on Tuesday, June 21, stressing that FIFA is doing this “with the aim of transparency.”

“A special ranking will be established on June 21, 2016, in order to distribute the qualified teams into the different pots according,” the statement said.

The senior national team, the Black Stars is part of the 20 teams who will know their Pots by June 21.
