Africa Young Conservatives Dialogue Extends A Warm Welcome To The Iydu Delegation To Ghana

We have followed with keen interest the significant role the International Young Democrats Union (IYDU) has been playing towards expanding the frontiers of centre-right ideals through youth mentorship, sensitization and training.

Indeed, the effort of the IYDU leadership is quite commendable. The commitment, zest and dedication are doubtlessly beyond measure.

Our particular commendation goes to Mr. Jason Emert, Chairman of the IYDU for his great leadership skills which has helped built a towering image for the institution, Mr. Collin Bloom, the Director of Outreach of the Conservative Party, UK and last but not the least,
Mr. Soren Dayton, a friend of the Dialogue and Senior Vice President, Digital Advocacy at Hill Krowtton with responsibility for strategy.

That, this is the first ever IYDU meeting to be held in Africa and particularly here in Ghana, speaks to the tremendous efforts by the IYDU to widen its tentacles and to reach out to the global community in helping consolidate a free and open society with prospects for youth development.

What is even more heart-warming is the array of topics set for deliberations which issues have profound impact on the youth of Africa and Ghana for that matter.

Apparently, in about a hundred and twenty days from now, Ghana is set to go to the polls to elect a President and Members of Parliament, a 7th since coming into being of our 1992 Constitution.

The role therefore of our youth towards canvassing and securing a resounding victory for our party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot be under-estimated.

Instructively, this victory is so crucial to our party, in that, it holds the keys to unlocking the great potentials of our nation towards increasing growth and prosperity for our people, particularly the youth who are the future leaders of our nation.

In this light, the Dialogue whilst thanking the members of the delegation to Ghana as well as the local youth wing hosting the event, we wish to observe and underscore the need for the IYDU to foster increased youth mentorship and apprenticeship, training and ideological re-engineering as critical ingredients towards enhancing youth participation and involvement in the social political as well cultural discourse hinged on the rule of law, free enterprise et al within the global setting.

On this note, the Dialogue welcomes the IYDU and wishes them a fruitful Freedom Forum.

LONG LIVE THE IYDU,
LONG LIVE, NPP,
LONG LIVE AFRICA.

Emmanauel Attafuah-Danso,
Convener, the Africa Young Conservative Dialogue, Ghana (The Dialogue),
