THE ASHANTI Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) will officially kick-start their electioneering campaign for the 2016 polls at the Asokwa Constituency on Sunday, with party top guns set to attend the event.
Top on the list of the party gurus expected to be at the historic event includes Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, vice presidential candidate of the NPP and Madam Patricia Appiagyei, NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa.
The programme dubbed ‘The Launching of Campaign and People’s Forum for Asokwa’ would be aired live on Ashh FM in Kumasi.
NPP supporters and sympathizers from the remaining constituencies in the Ashanti Region, would definitely storm Asokwa to take part in the event, since Asokwa is the first constituency in the region to start its campaign.
Edmund Kyei, the Asokwa NPP Communications Director, said the party is expecting colossal number of people to jam the park in front of the Fidelity Bank which is opposite the Atonsu Station, venue of the event.
He stated that everything had been done by the Asokwa NPP Constituency executives so as to make the programme a memorable one, adding that patronage would be massive on Sunday.
According to him, Dr. Bawumia, Madam Patricia Appiagyei and other top party executives from national, regional and constituency levels, would address the crowd about the NPP’s vision to improve Ghana.
90 Percent
Mr. Kyei noted that the NPP wants to win 90 percent of valid votes at Asokwa this year, adding that nothing would stop Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP from winning the national elections.
Mr. Kyei lambasted the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration for mismanaging the country and deepening the economic woes of the citizenry, stressing that Ghana needs the NPP to save it from its misery.
