Black Stars and Swansea midfielder, Andre Ayew has said that he has not won enough as a player.
Ayew, who has won the SWAG Footballer of the Year for the second time and Sports Personality of the Year, for the first time said this when he was officially introduced to the title sponsors of the 41st MTN-SWAG Awards at the MTN head office in Accra.
The former Olympique Marseille attacking midfielder has won individual awards in his young career but says he has not won enough and must do more for himself and country.
“I have not won anything yet; there are some few important trophies to win for my country and myself. I have so much to win; I am still young, and I know I can progress whether in football or trophies.”
“Winning individual awards are not that important for me but to win something good with the national team is what we the Black Stars are fighting for” he added.
Ayew led the Ghana U-20 youth team, the Black Satellites to conquer Africa and the world in 2009 in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt, Cairo.
Ayew, who now plies his trade with Swansea City in the English Premier League has won several individual and National Awards including:
BBC African Footballer of the Year in 2011, Ghana Player of the Year in 2011, African Cup of Nations Top Scorer in 2015, Africa Cup of Nations Team of the Tournament in 2015, Premier League Player of the Month in EPL in August in 2015, Africa Cup of Nations Silver Medal in 2010 and 2015, African Cup of Nations Bronze Medal in 2008, African Youth Championship in 2009 and FIFA U-20 World Cup Winner in 2009.
