Presidential candidate of the Convention People's Party (CPP) Ivor Kobina Greenstreet has served notice to the critics of the President that he won't allow himself to their bidding.

According to him, he is not an agitator for any party or individual in the country.

Mr. Greenstreet attended the 2016 Evening Encounter Series organized by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) at the Alisa Hotel to share his party's manifesto and aspirations with the people of Ghana.

Addressing a gathering at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, the CPP Presidential candidate sought to dispel doubts about his position on Ford Expedition gift to President John Dramani Mahama.

He stated unequivocally that he will never denigrate President John Mahama nor accuse him of corruption unless he has evidence to buttress his claims.

Ivor Greenstreet noted that he holds the office of the President in high esteem and therefore refuses to disrespect an office that he intends to occupy.

“I will never turn around and point to the President, and tell him to his face that you’re corrupt unless I have evidence . . . Number 1, to prevent those who think that I will be an agitator on their behalf. But number 2, because I believe there has to be proper evidence, proper investigation and the matter properly looked into before we all start jumping up and down trying to accuse people of specific things.

“I respect the office of General Secretary. In the same way, I respect the office of the Presidency.”

He added that he will not smear the character of President John Dramani Mahama because he is "not an agitator for other people’s political intentions . . .People are indicted. People are accused. People are tried on radio and found guilty before they even had a chance to respond. We’ve all been witnesses to when a former Head of State called a sitting Head of State who is now a former Head of State himself 'Ata Ayi', armed robber, criminal. And here I am wanting to occupy that very office, I refuse to be part of any group of people who seek to denigrate the individual . . .”
