Egypt Sure to Survive Costa Rica

Hosts Egypt take on Costa Rica in another one-eighth battle with the hope to replicate last Wednesdays spirited fight they put up against Italy to make it to this stage. The Egyptians, who missed Ahmed Hegazy in their game against Italy, will be lucky to have him back, together with Salah Soliman who have both recovered to full fitness and will be urged on by an ecstatic crowd which is expected to take advantage of todays holiday (Armed Forces Day) to throng the stadium. Having topped the group with that brilliant show, the Egyptians are upbeat about their chances of making it to the final, and the strike force headed by Ahmed Shokary will attempt to rely on the partisan crowd for inspiration. Coach Miroslav Soukoup, who expressed great happiness at the performance so far posted by the Young Pharaohs, says his side has an advantage in many ways over Costa Rica.
