The Tamale Central Hospital, popularly known as the �Old Hospital, has taken steps to evict food vendors who are operating on its premises. This follows littering of the surroundings of the hospital which has attracted the attention of management. After meeting to discuss this matter, the management of the hospital concluded that it was appropriate to eject the traders to maintain proper sanitation on the hospital�s premises. Consequently, letters have been dispatched to all food vendors and petty traders to vacate the premises. �It has come to our notice that plastic waste is being littered all over the facility and especially around the market square. Management has, therefore, decided that all commercial activities should be stopped with immediate effect,� the letter, signed by the Medical Director of the facility, Dr Patrick Bampoh, stated. In accordance with this directive, the affected vendors have halted their activities on the premises of the hospital, even though they are yet to pick up their containers. The Administrator of the hospital, Mr. Damasus Ayamga, told the Daily Graphic that the hospital would follow up the letters with forced eviction, if the traders involved failed to evacuate their containers.
