Three members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Mampong Constituency who allegedly locked up the constituency�s administrator in the office last week have been granted police enquiry bail. They are Christopher Appiah-Mensah, a staunch member, Kwame Agresi, a polling station chairman at Kofiase, and Morrison Opoku, also a polling station chairman at Ninting.According to ASP Ali Anning, officer in charge of the Mampong Police Divisional Crime Office, Kwame Agresi in the company of others, went to the NPP Constituency office to get nomination forms to enable them contest in the ongoing polling station elections. But the Constituency Chairman, Opanin Akwasi Duwaa, was alleged to have denied them, saying �they had to be vetted.� However, Agresi and others were alleged to have argued that, that was not the procedure, resulting in a misunderstanding which made the chairman leave the office.Mr Anning said it was alleged that immediately Agresi and his henchmen also got out of the office, they took a new padlock to lock the office, leaving the constituency administrator, Mr Amoako � Baah, popularly called �Osofo� in the office. According to ASP Anning, Appiah-Mensah had denied knowledge about the locking of Mr Amoako Baah, but it was alleged that he was the man who led the people to the office. Meanwhile, a group calling itself Concerned Citizens of Mampong have condemned the behaviour of some NPP members who gave a distorted account of what happened to a radio station.It was on the airways that there was chaos and vandalism at the NPP Constituency office, and that clashes among the NPP members had caused a lot damage to property. A press statement signed by its chairman and the Secretary, Mr Kusi Boahen and Mr Adjei Barimah Samuel respectively said all the information given out were false, and that nothing of that sort had happened at Mampong. They, therefore, urged all and sundry to dismiss such unfounded allegations which they said was done by a few disgruntled members of the party to tarnish the reputation of the Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Francis Addai-Nimoh.
