Hearts Board Not Involved In Traguils Appointment

A board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, says the decision to make new Portuguese trainer, Sergio Traguil, the substantive coach was not discussed with the board.

He said the board was aware the coach was taking over the junior side, Auroras, but his new status as the head coach of the club did not come to the club’s board.

The former FA boss, who was reacting to speculations that the coach was hired specifically to take over from Coach Kenichi Yatsuhatchi, insisted that the board had no policy to hire expatriates to take over the coaching job at Hearts.

That notwithstanding, Dr Tamakloe advised the new coach to be firm in the discharge of his duties as head of the technical team and should not allow anyone to interfere in his job.

He said  without being his own man, others would dictate to him, particularly in the area of selection of players, and urged him to avoid listening  too much to others.

“I have once been a chairman so I know what I’m talking about,” he argued

“Sometimes come from either the bench or management is overbearing such that if the coach is not tough he cannot be in charge”, he added.
