Accra Mayor Supports G.B.S.A With GH 51,000

The Chief Executive Officer of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Alfred Okoe Vanderpuye has supported the Ghana Beach Soccer Association (GBSA) with an amount of GHC 51,000.

The donation is towards the maiden edition of the One Ghana Unity Cup, which kicks off on Saturday July 15, as well as the development of the sport in the Greater Accra Region.

The donation is part of the Mayor’s promises he made to the GBSA when he first took office.

The Mayor also presented a glittering giant golden cup for the three day beach soccer festival, which will see players from the four main coastal regions of Greater Accra, Volta, Central and Western battling each other in the tournament.

The tournament will also be used to select best players for the national team (the Black Sharks), who will play their Kenyan counterparts in the first round of the two leg AFCON 2016 beach soccer qualifier.

According to the organizers, as part of the tournament, there will be a mega peace walk with the El Wak Keep Fit Club, which President John Dramani Mahama is expected to take part.
