GFA Confirms Rift With Sports Ministry

The Ghana Football Association has confirmed an incongruity in relationship with the Sports Ministry.

The relationship between the two parties has been questioned due to recent differences among the two parties.

The Nation’s Football governing body since the appointment of Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpujye as the Sports Minister on countless occasions has been reported to be at logger heads with the government official.

Nii Lantey Vanderpujye and his cohorts recently revealed a document on the huge sums of money spent by the Ghana Football Association as indemnity fee for referees in Ghana’s 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Egypt.

The FA weeks ago were also reported to have rejected a sponsorship deal secured by the Sports Ministry for the Ghana Premier League.

Issue between the two parties has gone unabated pushing the FA to reveal a rift with the Ministry as believed by the football public in the country.

“Issues like this are the reason why many organizations do not want to not want to sponsor the League,” Spokesperson Ibrahim Sannie Darra told Happy FM.

“There is a problem between the FA and the Sports Ministry but the other party do not want admit.”

“On countless occasions the have been issues. We at the FA will do our work to help in the development of football in the country.”

The Sports Ministry on countless occasions has denied a brawl with the Football Association.
