I Dont Belong To Any Political Party Amakye Dede Rejects Association With NPP

Legendary highlife musician, 'Abrantie' Amakye Dede has said that he has never said anywhere that he is a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) neither does he belong to any other political party.

The veteran musician insists he is not a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), neither is he affiliated to any political party.

The "Iron Boy" hit maker who has not really disclosed his political affiliation in previous elections was reportedly spotted openly campaigning for opposition leader and NPP flag bearer  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo a couple of days ago.

As part of his "Arise for Change" tour, Amakye reportedly joined the 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to address residents of Agogo, in the Asante Akim North constituency.

According to sources when Amakye Dede mounted the stage he asked the people of Agogo where he hails from, to vote for NPP to put in place measures to ensure that the ‘Fulani menace’ in the area is curbed once and for all.

But setting the records straight in an interview with PEACE FM during the 6pm bulletin, "Seeerious" as he is affectionately called, dared “anyone who said he heard per my performance at Agogo campaigning for the greatest opposition party, NPP and as well its flag bearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to produce the tape”.

“What I always say is God has given me the talent to sing, and it is through this that I earn my living, therefore I was as usual contracted by an NPP MP who paid me and at the same time hired my singing band to entertain their members during the commissioning of their new office at Agogo, in the Asante Akim North constituency, of which I exactly did as per the agreement,” he revealed.

He emphatically stated “I have never opened my mouth to say I belong to party A or B because as a Ghanaian musician I am ready to work with all citizens and also every political party Ghanaians elect to lead this country who is ready to pay me for services rendered. This is because it is not only the NPP or NDC who have made me who I am today”.
