Sports Minister Refutes Friction Claims With Nyantakyi Insists They Are Not Enemies

Ghana’s Sports Minister Nii Lante Vanderpuye has refuted claims that he has a problem with the president of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi insisting they are not enemies.

Recent media rants by the Minister has compelled many to conclude that he has a personal rift with the GFA Boss.

But the outspoken Sports Minister says it is a wrong notion adding he has a good relationship with the GFA capo.

The Minister recently accused the GFA for contacting him to do something scandalous to influence Ghana’s U20 game against Senegal which he declined.

With the Minister’s continuous attacks on the GFA in the media, conclusion are that the two bodies and their leaders are at each other even though the GFA is yet to respond to any of his rants.

But speaking to Adom TV in Accra, the Sports Minister refuted the claims insisting they have a good relationship.

“There has been a picture circulating on social media for some time now. I will like to state that I have no problem with the FA President,” he said

“The truth of the matter is that. There was someone sitting between Nyantakyi and I during the Ghana-Senegal game.

“The Chief of Edinaman was sitting between us and ten minutes from time he decided to visit the washroom.

“People had seen us sitting for the past 80 minutes of the game and never took a picture until the Edinaman Chief got up then they decided to take a picture.

“I don’t know the motive behind that. But if you ask Nyantakyi he will tell you there is no problem between us. We talk all the time,” he added.
