I Learn From Cristiano Ronaldo - Kwesi Donsu

Medeama SC midfielder Kwasi Donsu has revealed that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is his greatest idol in football.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season in the Ghana Premier League, scoring twelve goals including nine free-kicks. He claims he spends time trying to imitate the Portugal captain in the hope of becoming as good as him.

“Football is my everything, I haven’t learn any work apart from football so every day I make sure when I go to training, I practice very well,” Donsu told YFM.

“Anytime Real Madrid are playing, I watch [Cristiano] Ronaldo on television because I am a fan of him. I like the way he plays and learn a lot from him, especially the way he takes his free-kicks.

“I am very good with free kicks also, so I have to make sure during training sessions, I practice how to take free-kicks to become perfect. So when we are playing a game and we get two or three free-kicks, it is possible I score one for my club to win the game,” he added.

Although, Donsu is two goals behind leading league scorer Yahaya Mohammed with three matches remaining, the midfielder has played down the importance of overtaking him to win the goal king diadem.

“The goal king is not my target but I am praying that at the end of the day I will score more goals to help my team claim all the maximum points in the remaining games. I know the more we win, the club will move forward to help the players, so I have no target for goal king.”

Medeama will host Asante Kotoko this weekend at the Tarkwa and Aboaso Park, as the two clubs battle it out in the race to finish within the top four.
