Friends Of Atta Mills Condemn Attacks On Anyidoho

A Kumasi-based pro-NDC pressure group has condemned the attacks on the personality of Mr. Koku Anyidohu, by some leading members of the ruling party in the Ashanti Region, describing it as untoward and unwarranted. The Friends of Atta Mills Movement has expressed its displeasure at the leading party members for subjecting the Director of Communications at the Castle to media attacks for a comment he allegedly made concerning Dr. Spio Garbrah during an interview granted to FOCUS RADIO, community-based radio station in London. According to the acting National Co-ordinator of the Movement, Mr. Gabriel Agah, the attacks by these personalities, who claim to be members of the National Democratic Congress, is a deliberate plan to destract the government from pursuing its Better Ghana agenda. Mr. Agah noted that it was highly regrettable that in spite of the calls by the NDC executives on Mr. Kwamena Ahwoi and Dr. Spio Garbrah to cease fire on their public criticisms, some so-called leading members of the party have been hopping from one radio station to another, casting insinuations on the President and his appointees. Two prominent members of the ruling in the region, namely Mr. Joseph Yamin, a former Parliamentary candidate for the Kwadaso constituency and Nana Ishmael Butler, who now chairs the Finance and Administration (F&A) Committee of the KMA last week took Mr. Anyidohu to the cleaners, for a reported derogatory comments he made against the former NDC Presidential hopeful, Dr. Spio Garbrah. The Movement further contended that the action of the two members was a calculated ploy to draw unnecessary attention to themselves and make their presence felt in the party. We the members of Friends of Atta mills wish to place on record that appointment into government will never depend on favoritism but by merit. Those who have joined the bandwagon must also know that their idol (Spio Garbrah) was given the opportunity to serve in the previous NDC government. We are, therefore, urging all his cohorts to completely desist from engaging in unnecessary badmouthing and criticism of appointing authorities, because their plot will never succeed, the Movement noted. Mr. Agah further noted that the administration of Prof. John Evans Atta Mills was on course to achieving the pledges it made to Ghanaians and cautioned all detractors to desist from the underground antics to subvert the government.
