Ghanaian actor turned politician-John Dumelo studied Civil Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology for his first degree but he has made a complete departure from this and has now enrolled at GIMPA’s School of Public Service and Governance, multiple student sources have told ghanacelebrities.com.
John Dumelo who is leading the 2016 NDC’s celebrity campaign race has for some years expressed interest in politics and it seems he does not intend to remain a foot soldier,travelling to the hinterlands for NDC’s flagship door to door campaign. He’s intending to soon take up a public office or one is already lined up for him–a good reason why he has started a degree focusing on “Public Service and Governance.”
A female source who has been sitting in the same class with John Dumelo at GIMPA toldGhanaCelebrities.Com that, “it was shocking at first to have him sit close to me and taking the same class with me. He’s funny and even made an E-mail joke which got him saying ‘JM Toaso’ in class.”
Another source said: “He came to class the last time in trainers and shabbily dressed–I was expecting more from a celebrity like him.”
The “GIMPA School of Public Service and Governance aims to become the preferred provider of Human Resource Development programmes to line Ministries, Departments, Statutory, Private Sector and other agencies,” according to the school’s website.
The school offers courses leading to “the award of Certificate, Diploma and Degrees in the field of Leadership, Management and Public Administration as a necessary requirement for maintaining the vitality of organizations in the development of the economy.”
